Gemstone Mala Beads for the 2nd Chakra

Svadhisthana (sweetness), or Sacral Chakra, is located at the lower abdomen between the belly button and pubic bone.

The Svadhisthana chakra is symbolized by the color orange and a lotus with six petals. The element of Swadhisthana is water, and in this illustration is represented by an image of the ocean. The white crescent moon in the center of the lotus is also related to water. The outward-turned petals represent the conscious dimension of existence. On the inside, the image of the ocean at night represents the formless dimension and the store of formless karma. Traditionally there is also a white crocodile symbolizing the subterranean movement of the karmas and is the vehicle which carries the phantom of the unconscious life.

Our Sacral Chakra deals with our needs and desires, both sexually and emotionally. This Chakra is also linked to our innate Creativity, and its issues are pleasure/pain, relationships, and emotions. The principal virtue of your Second Chakra is to be able to feel and to enjoy the sensations of experiencing a feeling, and like water, go with the flow.

A positive balance in the Svadhisthana Chakra would be represented by stability in one’s sexuality, sensuality, and emotions. A joyous nature and a good sense of humor would also be present, and the sexual side of one’s life would be fulfilling and appropriate.

An imbalance in our second Chakra can leave us feeling insecure and unable to feel or enjoy physical or emotional sensations deeply. An out-of-balance Swadhisthana chakra is shown when people are preoccupied with sex and spend most of their time thinking about it or trying to ‘get’ it. They relate to other people in a sexual way, even when the context has nothing to do with sex, such as in the workplace. They are hedonists, preoccupied with enjoyment and pursuit of pleasures. Addiction issues can also manifest when Swadhisthana is out of balance.
